Waterproof Golf Bag

caddy Tax return (UK)?

I am thinking about doing some work as a caddy this year, to keep books etc up to date I need to know what I am entitled to claim back as expenses. Am I entitled to claim the following?
Mileage for traveling to golf courses from my home. several different golf courses not in the same geographical location.
Waterproofs 100% used for work
A few pairs of shoes used for work as one pair might get wet depending on weather, require to change.
A notice says if we want to grow a beard we have to take time of work, can a percentage of razors/aftershaves be claimed back also deodorant as we are required to keep personal Hygiene.
Mobile phone as we have to call the caddy master on a daily basis.
Clothing, because the bag straps damage clothing fast and we are expected to dress with golf wear which is not cheap.
Any other suggestions to what can be claimed is appreciated.

I presume that you will be classed as self employed in so far as you can offer your services to any golfer and are not employed exclusively by one.
The simple answer is that any legitimate expense ” incurred wholly, exclusively and totally” in the nature of the course of trade or profession is allowable. In practice, some expenses are shared between business and personal use. The acceptable solution is to allocate a portion of the expense to private use and the balance to business. Most of the expenses mentioned by you fall into this category, but I will admit that after 30 years in public practice you have hit me with a new one. The time off work to grow a beard and the deodorant. Be real!
