Red Golf Tees

got stung or bit by something not sure what its been a day please answer soon?

okay at 6:30 yesterday i was out side bare foot hitting golf balls and i stepped over to tee another ball and got stung or bit by something and it hurt bad i limped inside and tried to put ice on it but it hurt to bad to touch where the sting was or anywhere on the toe area (it was my big toe) and the sting or whatever looked like a bulls eye it had a red dot and around it was like a whitish ring (it was lighter then my skin) it hurt extremely bad until i fell asleep which was probably about 11:30 but i also have RSD so i wasnt sure if it was the sting that was so bad or if it flared up my RSD

so now today it feels a lot better but it still hurts and every like 5 or 10 seconds the pain spikes up for a second or 2 then goes back down

so what stung me? a scorpion? is it okay to still be hurting? what should i do?

Generally whenever you’re stung by anything you should wash the sting site off with hot soapy water, apply a cold compress (a cool cloth with no ice), and take ibuprofen or similar medication to relieve the pain. Scorpion stings generally result in localized pain and swelling that can last a day, or up to almost two weeks in some people, however it generally depends on if you’re allergic to bees and such, if not it should be alright. There are no extremely venomous Scorpions in the US, the most venomous in the US is Centruroides Sculpturatus, which is rated a 3 on a 1-5 venom toxicity scale, where 1 is negligible and 5 is highly venomous, so generally only small children or the elderly are in danger when stung by a scorpion in the US, also those with allergies towards the venom, if you experience an allergic reaction however (extreme swelling, shortness of breath, hardness of swallowing, etc.) visit a doctor as soon as possible. If the sting felt like a very hot needle penetrating your skin then it was most likely a Scorpion since the symptom of a bee sting generally isn’t felt until a few hours from the sting, however the symptoms vary from one person to another.
