R11 Golf Clubs

I need tips on my golf performance?

OK so i am 14 and have good clubs but not the r11 by any means i am decent and go golfing at least once a week but i still cant beat my friends…they are not pro by any means either do you have any tips you would tell me and any websites that could help me on anything please help me

Hey man. I’m not the best golfer by any means my lowest on 18 is 86. but i do have a few pointers that have helped me BIG TIME. we will start off the tee.

Tee Box – remember ball placement is a little forward from the middle of your stance but behind your front foot. you want to catch the ball JUST coming up on it to get that top spin. remember the height at which you tee it and what makes you hit the ball well. if you hit well teed higher then tee higher. remember if your allowed to tee it then tee it up! if its a par 3 and you can reach it with an iron. tee it low to the ground and place the ball according to the club your using from the middle to the front of your back foot. KEEP YOUR LEFT ELBOW LOCKED and don’t lift your left foot up until you feel comfortable hitting well.

Fairway – remember ball placement at your feet is extreamly important for a good hit. take some grass with you! I would suggest going to the range and taking a notebook. write down your ranges for EVERY CLUB!!! know how far a full swing with your Pitching wedge will go. know how far a half swing with your pitching wedge will go. SERIOUSLY KNOW YOUR DISTANCES not your friends YOUR DISTANCES!! never ask what club they used. yours will not always but sometimes be different. BUT YOU will HIT YOUR SPOTS!! remember hitting on down slope to club up one or two and opposite for up slopes. if it slopes left or right remember the ball will automatically want to follow the slope off of the hill. so if it slopes right then aim left because its going to want to pull a little to the right.

Ball type – make sure as a beginner you use a slow spinning ball. i would say use the titliest dt so/lo or a callway warbird. theres a whole bunch that are made for beginners. the reason you want a slow spinning ball is because you will have much better control around the greens. when you get the control you want they you can start using fast spinning multi core balls like titleist pro v1 and other tour type balls. they spin faster and will allow further drives and more backspin on the greens. but if you don’t know how to spin the ball your going to be alllll over the green. meaning off ALL THE TIME.

Chipping – beginners keep your HANDS FORWARD IN FRONT OF THE CLUB HEAD!!! put the ball to your back foot. close foot stance. know that and assume the ball is going to roll and look at the green to see which way and aim accordingly. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE. chipping is one of the hardest things for people to do. you will lower your score big time if you can chip it on in one. remember as a beginner aim for the green not always the flag. you will lower your score this way.

Putting – its a feel game know your distance for how far you pull back your putter. put an line or arrow on your ball with a sharpie for allignment. ALWAYS allign your ball. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE.

LAST THING — REMEMBER YOU DON”T HAVE TO GO GOLFING TO PRACTICE. HECK YOU DON”T EVEN HAVE TO GO TO THE COARSE. go out in your front yard and practice your take aways with the club and alignments. use a stick or another club to help your straighten up your allignment of the ball. i practice chipping in my front yard trying to get the balls within a couple feet of one another or touching one another. watch lots of videos on youtube on swing styles grips and just knowledge. remember the more you go the better you will get. its that simple. back in his prime Tiger Woods would golf 36 or more holes a day. to be the best you have to do it and always do it right!
