Oversized golf grips…?

If my glove size is an XL (26cm) should i use oversized grips?

Also, I was looking at oversized grips and found:
1. Golf Pride Midsize +1/16 Tour Velvet .600
2. Tour Velvet Jumbo +1/8 .600 Round Grip

Would the second one be .600″ + 1/8″ in diameter? and the first .600″ + 1/16″ in diameter?

Why do they both say .600?

Ideally, you want the ring finger of your left hand (for righties) just barely touching, or just shy of touching, the meaty pad under your thumb. If your current grips allow you to dig into that fleshy spot, your grips are too small. How do you know what’s right? Get yourself some Gauzetex, available at pharmacies and pharmacy sections at super stores, and spiral-wrap it around your grip. Do one layer at a time, until you get to where you like the feel. Also, consider making the right-hand section of the grip a little bigger… not many people think of this, and it isn’t for everyone, but since you’re going to experiment with what’s best for YOU, might as well at least investigate it, right? At any rate, once you find you ideal amount of wraps, measure 2″ down from the grip cap with a caliper- that will give you your grip size. If you find you like the right hand part of the grip a little bigger, measure for that at a spot 5″ down from the grip cap.

The .600 means the core size is .600″. Shafts come in different sizes: .560, .580, .600, .620 are the most popular. The grip says “.600″ (some will just say “60″… why, no one knows- but it means the same thing). What that means is, when you put a .600 cored grip on a .600 butt diametered shaft, you get “standard” size- when measured at the 2″ mark.

Here’s a few of the decimal sizings (if you use digital calipers) for men’s golf clubs:

.885= -1/64″
.860= -1/32″
.900= standard
.915= +1/64″
.931= +1/32″
