(NC)-While drivers seem to get all the attention when it comes to clubs in the bag, any seasoned player will tell you strokes are quickly lost - and gained - on the green.
That's why Barry Wallis, Callaway Golf Canada's on-staff professional, says your putter could be considered the most important club you own. While there are dozens and dozens of putters on the market, Wallis advises there are three key things to consider when shopping around. If you have problems lining up your putts, you may want to consider a 2-ball or 3-ball designed putter. Those who tend to pull their putts may want to consider a heel-shafted putter. Most important, he says, is it's all about feel. "So much of putting is psychological, that it's important to pick up a putter, stand over the ball and get a sense of what works for you," he explains. Finally, don't forget to get fitted. "Shaft length is critical in putting because comfort is key," adds Wallis. "It's all about personal preference." Credit: www.newscanada.com |
