Mechanical help – Mk 3 Golf Gti?
ve just had my little 8v Gti serviced and it’s raseid a few questions, hopefuly you guys can help?
The guy has said that there is wear on the end of the steering rack, but he doesn’t know without looking further if he’ll need to replace the whole rack or if the end parts can be exchanged? If the steering rack does need to be changed any ideas I on what I should expect to pay?
Also the rear disks need changing, but again he’s not sure if they are bolted to the hubs, or are they part of the hub? And does anyone know any good sites to get spares?
Another thing – I need to change one of the headlights, so as I’m changing it anyway I was thinking about getting angel eyes – can anyone recomend a decent site to get a bargain?!

The car has 117005 Miles (I noticed go round today!) and it has disks on the rear.
For spares try “German French and Swedish” GSF. or Euro Car Spares, they keep a good stock for VW’S. and prices are reasonable.
