Ever since the era of cavemen, or possibly before, fellow males have occupied their time with a stick and a rock, which brought the invention of this game to thought. Previously, centuries before us, fellow men would swing the stick to hit the rock to knock the rock towards some location of which we planned to place the rock in. This was the beginning of golf, whether it was recognized or not.
There is no specific country in which golf was created in. Golf was a game where sticks and other objects could come in contact with each other to cause a movement in the object, thus forth hitting the “ball”. Cavemen did not invent the name “Golf”, very depressing to inform you but it was sometime during the 15th century in which the sport of golf had received its’ name. Different styles of golf that occurred manies of centuries ago were considered to be golfs’ ancestors. Almost every nation in the world has a claim to fame in part of the creation and inventing of golf. A more obvious claim is the one made by Scotland, however China, Rome, England, France, Holland, Belgium, and even Laos all also claim to having something to do with the inventing of golf. All nations have a game which contains sticks and balls and all countries are in the right state of mind when they assume that they created the game. There is not really one country that can take credit for creating the sport of golf. One of the main reasons why many nations claim the fame of creating golf is because they were the originating nations of different games which were all similar to golf itself. The creator of golf will never be creditted, which is a shame, but there is no one to blame. While the sport may sound like something you just do you when you are bored, it became a more enhanced activity and a worldwide favorite which is played by millions. |
