why are all golf cart motors sold without a top cover!?

I’ve been looking into buying a golf cart motor for a project I’m working on, but all the motors on Ebay are sold with no top cover! Is this normal? Also, any idea where I can buy a cover?

I suspect it’s because the motors were designed to mate with a component common to the golf carts, transmission maybe. I guess you could either machine your own end plate or use more of the golf cart.
Perhaps you could use another type of motor. There are many types for all kinds of applications.
