The 2.0 is a naturally-aspirated engine. It’s practically bulletproof, and cheap to fix. The 1.8L is the turbo one, and thus more powerful, but also more expensive to fix.

On both of these, the only CRUCIAL thing you want to see is a record of timing belt and water pump changes every 60-80K. The WP especially, has a history of the plastic impeller disintegrating and causing engine block to overheat. Make sure it’s been changed to a metal-impeller pump.
