At first, the game of golf was played as an outdoor pastime, perhaps with the stone or ball hit along the ground until it crossed a line or similar goal. Eventually a rabbit hole in the ground became the ultimate object. Golf players of old did not have any guidelines or boundaries. How did golf change into a professional sport? |

Ever since the era of cavemen, or possibly before, fellow males have occupied their time with a stick and a rock, which brought the invention of this game to thought. Previously, centuries before us, fellow men would swing the stick to hit the rock to knock the rock towards some location of which we planned to place the rock in. This was the beginning of golf, whether it was recognized or not. |
