is it worth purchasing a golf practice net?

is it worth purchasing a golf practice net in the price range of anywhere between 0-100 dollars, i am speaking of a net designed like a cage in which you would hit into. i am concerned of their durability and overal quailty and if they would be of much benefit. anybody own one or have any further knowledge on the matter would be appreciated

There are pros and cons to consider before you buy. The major complaint I hear is that hitting into a net directly in front of you doesn’t allow the ball time to display any bad spin or other errors your swing imparted. So if you’re trying to eliminate a bad banana hook, you’ll have a tough time determining if your ball would have gone straight if it hits a net after 10 feet.

If you’re a relatively good golfer with a consistent swing, that isn’t as much of a problem. A net at home can really save you some cash and time otherwise spent at a driving range. My advice in that case is to spend a little more for a sturdy, solid-framed net that’s maybe a bit bigger than you think you need. Better safe than sorry when you’re taking a full cut towards your own windows, for example.
